Rose Schultehenrich - Executive Secretary
Rose has served on the board of the St. Louis Ophthalmological Society as the Executive Secretary since 2004. She takes care of the Society, the doctors memberships, arranging dinners and obtaining CME for the physicians.
She is married to Stan Schultehenrich; they have 5 children and 10 grandchildren. She enjoys spinning and dancing.
Gabriela Espinoza, MD - Vice President
Dr. Enright is an Assistant Professor in Cornea and External Diseases at Washington University in St. Louis John F. Hardesty, MD Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences and is the Medical Director of the eye bank at Mid-America Transplant. She completed a PhD focused on retinal development, along with medical school and residency training at Washington University in St. Louis, and fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at the University of Michigan.
Jennifer Enright, MD - Secretary-Treasurer
Dr. Vollman is the Vice President of Medical Practice for Medical and Surgical Specialties, SSM Health Medical Group, Adjunct Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, Department of Ophthalmology, St. Louis University School of Medicine.
In his role at SSM Health, Dr. Vollman leads medical and surgical specialties, supports system-wide Clinical Programs, and serves as a key physician leadership resource. He is responsible for developing short- and long-term strategic and operational plans to ensure alignment with broader organization priorities. In addition, he will oversee the integrated delivery network and help grow and enhance department and medical group operations. He will also be engaged in ophthalmic patient care and resident education at St. Louis University Hospital.
David Vollman, MD, MBA - Member At Large
Dr. Garcia-Ferrer is the chief ophthalmologist for Mercy Clinic Eye Specialists in St. Louis and Division Chief for Ophthalmology at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis. Prior to joining Mercy Clinic in 2014, he served as an Associate Professor at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, with a joint position as Chief of the Sacramento VA Medical Center. Dr. Garcia-Ferrer received his medical education and residency training at Washington University in St. Louis, and completed fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at the University of California, Davis.
Gabriela M. Espinoza, M.D., is the Assistant Dean for Educational Programming in the office of Graduate Medical Education at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at SSM SLUCare Physician Group.
Dr. Espinoza is a graduate of Harvard University with a major in applied mathematics to biomedical engineering and went on to train in medicine at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She then completed training in ophthalmology at Washington University in Saint Louis. She specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery and served as the ophthalmology residency program director at Saint Louis University for over a decade before her current position.
